Equity Residential is proposing to redevelop the Garden Garage, located at 35 Lomasney Way, in Boston’s historic West End neighborhood. This redevelopment will add 486 new residential units to the Boston housing pipeline and bring an expanded range of housing options to the West End community.

Originally developed in the early 19th century, Boston’s West End continues to be a thriving neighborhood. Located between historic Beacon Hill to the south and the North End to the East, bordering the Charles River, the West End is comprised of mixed-use commercial, retail and residential components.

Most recently, this neighborhood, rich in history, has been modernized from end to end. New housing, updated transportation, including the MGH/Charles St. MBTA Station and roadways, as well as new office space and retail shops are resulting in the reemergence of the West End as Boston’s premier neighborhood to live and work.

This will be the newest addition to the Equity Residential Boston portfolio. In 2006, Equity Residential created 310 new residential units—the first new housing in the West End community in 20 years.
